Want to explore Cuba’s underwater world, but short on time? The SSI Scuba Diver Course is your shortcut to becoming a certified diver — safely and confidently — with just two days of training.

You’ll complete online theory, practice key skills in shallow water, and enjoy two guided dives in the ocean (up to 12m / 40ft). After this course, you'll be certified to dive anywhere in the world under the supervision of an SSI Professional.

What to Expect

Day 1:

Review digital learning with your instructor
Confined water skill development in a shallow, calm setting

Day 2:

Two open water dives (max. depth 12m/40ft) under instructor supervision
Certification wrap-up and dive log via MySSI app

If ocean conditions in Varadero aren’t ideal, training is relocated to the Caribbean Sea at the Bay of Pigs (approx. 2 hours each way). The diving here is spectacular, and we’ll stop for lunch at a private Cuban restaurant ($10–15 USD per person, not included).

Requirements

Minimum age: 10 years
Ability to swim and feel comfortable in the water
Completion of the SSI Diver Medical Questionnaire
Course time: 2 days, approx. 4–5 hours per day
No prior dive experience needed

Note: Students aged 10–14 will earn the Junior Scuba Diver certification.
