PADI Scuba Diver course

The two-day Scuba Diver Course is a wonderful opportunity to explore the underwater world with the comfort and safety of having an experienced guide with you. The course is designed for people that don’t have the time to complete the full Open Water certification course but still want to take advantage of diving opportunities while on vacation.

Who should try this experience?

The Scuba Diver course is a subset of the Open Water Diver course. If you’re short on time but want to become a diver, the Scuba Diver rating might be right for you, this is a pre-entry level certification enabling you to dive under the direct supervision of a professional instructor to a maximum depth of 40ft/12M. This can be earned in as little as 2 days and is great for divers who will only wish to dive under supervision, for instance, whilst on vacation. The minimum age is 15 yrs but for children aged 10 – 14 yrs there is the Junior Scuba Diver Course, the knowledge and skills you learn in the Scuba Diver training represent 2/3 of the Open Water Certification, which can be completed at a later date when you find the time.

What will you learn?

The Scuba Diver certification consists of three sections. First, you will complete chapters 1, 2, and 3 in the PADI Open Water manual and take three quizzes. Second, you practice skills in shallow water and on the surface to improve your confidence as a scuba diver. Finally, the third section focuses on two training dives.

Quick Details

Important Information:

• Non-certified divers must complete a medical statement confirming good health for diving. You must be able to answer “NO” to each of the questions on the form. A “yes” answer will require and medical release from your doctor.

• If weather conditions are not suitable to dive in Varadero, the dives will take place at the Bay Of Pigs a 2 hours drive to the Caribbean Sea.
• Lunch is NOT INCLUDED (applicable for the Bay of Pigs dives only, lunch stop in an Authentic Private Cuban restaurant - price $10 - $15/person)
