Join Scubalibre Varadero for shore dives while on your vacation, our instructors tailor guided dive for you to explore sites in Varadero North shore and the Bay of Pigs in the Caribbean seaside of the island, Cubas’s exquisite coral reefs and underwater formations make it one of the most incredible guided dive destinations in the Caribbean, creating memorable underwater moments.

Typical dive program (For reference only)

Day 1 - Coral Beach Reef (north shore) - Duration 6h
Located 15 minutes from Varadero the beach boasts a huge variety of coral and more than 300 species of tropical fish, the water's visibility is a big plus here, allowing you to spot interesting marine creatures as you dive from the shore along the vibrant reef.

Day 2 - Bay of Pigs Wall/shore dives (Caribbean sea) - Duration 8h
Located one and a half hours from Varadero, most people know the ‘Bay of Pigs’ (Bahía de Cochinos) from the US-backed covert operation that took place here on April 17, 1961. Today, the bay is a friendlier environment featuring ideal wall diving conditions directly from the shore, making transport by boat unnecessary. Its crystal-clear waters reveal surprising species of corals, sponges, and schools of colorful tropical fish.

Day 3 - Bacunayagua Reef (north shore) - Duration 6h
Locate only one hour east of Varadero you will find the Bacunayagua's reef offering beautiful hard corals, soft corals, and sea fans (yellow or purple) they make up a wonderful seascape inhabited by many fish such as barracudas, spotlight parrotfish, doctor fish, snappers and many more!

Day 4 - Puerto Escondido Reef (north shore) - Duration 7h
One and a half-hour east of Varadero the rich waters of Puerto Escondido (Hidden Harbor) bring incredible marine life together, where you can see all sorts of reef fish, as well as beautiful coral formations.

Quick Details

• All Diving sites will be scheduled as planned providing the weather permits.
• Must bring a diving certification card and logbook.
• Each dive typically lasts about 40 - 45 minutes, depth depending on your certification level and experience.
• Prices include Dives package, transportation, guide, and all dive gear.

Safety Requirements

• Divers need a basic comprehension of English or Spanish.
• A medical Clearance and Liability Release must be filled out on your arrival before your dive.
• You must bring a written release from your doctor if you answer YES to any of the questions on the Medical Clearance and Liability form.
• A parent or guardian must sign for anyone under 18 years old.
• REMEMBER YOU CAN’T DIVE AND THEN FLY. Please keep this in mind when you are scheduling your dive.

Important Information:

• If weather conditions are not suitable to dive in Varadero, the dives will take place at the Bay Of Pigs on the Caribbean Sea.
• Lunch is NOT INCLUDED (applicable for the Bay of Pigs dives only, lunch stop in an Authentic Private Cuban restaurant - price $10 - $15/person).
